It may be a stereotype, but …

… most people would probably agree that you don’t come between a cop and his coffee.

The never-sleeping eyes of law enforcement sometimes need to be caffeinated to remain that way.

But a Maryland woman apparently did just that.

Christina Ann Beverly, the former station clerk at the Pennsylvania State Police barracks in Loganville, was accepted into the York County District Attorney’s Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition (ARD) program on Tuesday, March 25, for taking some troopers money and then failing to deliver the joe.

According to a state police report, Beverly, 34, collected money from three troopers in May 2013 to buy Keurig K-cups for the station coffee machine. About two months later, one of those troopers mentioned to a supervisor that he had not received his coffee yet.

An investigation ensued. (They are cops, for crying out loud. It’s what they do.)

According to the PSP report on Beverly, she pocketed some of the cash and had not paid the coffee company for K-cups that were received.

On Tuesday, York County Judge Craig Trebilcock authorized Beverly’s participation in ARD. ARD is a pretrial, noncustodial program that allows first-time, nonviolent law breakers the opportunity to clear their criminal records if they successfully meet all of the requirements.

In Beverly’s case, she was ordered to refund two troopers a total of $60 and the coffee company $706.

She also was directed to perform 35 hours of community service within four months and write apology letters to the victims.
